The Printhouse Hotel, rising right in the middle of the stories that have been told about İstanbul for centuries, is the present-day form of a historic printing house that once gave life to books and has become an elegant boutique hotel inspiring its guests today.
This special building, which welcomes its guests today, once served as the Doyuran Printing House, which gave life to Turkey's literature. Founded in 1974 by Enver Doyuran, the printing house brought the works of our country's valued writers and poets together with readers for many years. In 2013, with the love he felt for the printing profession and for books, Enver Doyuran turned this historic building into a boutique hotel while preserving his respect for its original form. In this way the traces of ink were not erased; they simply began to host new stories.
Today, when you walk in The Printhouse Hotel's corridors, you set out not merely into a room but on a long journey through literature. Each room hosts one of the great names of Turkish literature. Aziz Nesin's smile-raising wit, Attilâ İlhan's melancholy İstanbul, Orhan Kemal's human warmth, Rıfat Ilgaz's sincerity, Cemal Süreya's delicate love, Orhan Veli's poetry mingling with the streets and Nazım Hikmet's never-diminishing hope. When you open your door you enter not merely a room but a story.
While the introductory booklets in each room tell of the mark that name left on our literature, every corner of the building builds an invisible bridge stretching from the past to the present.
When morning comes, İstanbul shows you its finest face. As you start the day on our terrace you look out at Hagia Sophia's silhouette defying the centuries, and with the city's first light you feel the breath of history. As the changing sky falls gently over the domes throughout the day, İstanbul opens before you in all its splendour. Our restaurant adds an elegant touch to your experience with its carefully prepared flavours.
At The Printhouse Hotel time does not merely pass; it gains meaning. Here every stone, every corridor and every room has a story to tell. This building, which yesterday gave life to books, continues today to give unforgettable memories to its guests coming from all four corners of the world.
Because some journeys are not made to a city.
Some journeys begin inside a story.
