Diyarbakır is considered one of the most important cities not only in Türkiye but in the whole world, with its Castle, its Inner Citadel, its various monumental buildings symbolising the development of urban history through all its phases, its traditional housing character and its cultural identity reflecting to this day the documentary values left by the great civilisations that ruled here.
The Sur Culture Route Festival, brought to life to crown Diyarbakır's cultural heritage, will carry the region's richness of culture and art from Diyarbakır to the world in October with more than 2,000 artists and 1,500 events. From dengbêj singers to the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, from Turkish, Kurdish and Armenian songs to eyvan nights, all these treasures will come together in a single festival.
